Actress Cybill Shepherd

Cybill Shepherd, born on February 18, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American actress, singer, and former model who rose to prominence during the 1970s and 1980s. She was the daughter of William Jennings Shepherd Jr., a homemaker, and William Jennings Shepherd, a small business owner. Shepherd's career began in the world of modeling at a young age, winning the title of Miss Teenage Memphis at 16 and subsequently entering the Model of the Year contest held by Life magazine. Her striking looks and poise led her to a successful modeling career in New York City, where she caught the eye of filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich.

In 1971, Bogdanovich cast Shepherd in her breakthrough role as Jacy Farrow in the coming-of-age drama The Last Picture Show. Her performance garnered critical acclaim and earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Shepherd's portrayal of the small-town beauty captured the hearts of audiences and established her as a rising star in Hollywood. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Shepherd continued to solidify her status as a leading lady in film and television. She starred alongside some of the era's biggest names in projects such as Taxi Driver (1976) opposite Robert De Niro and Moonlighting (1985-1989) alongside Bruce Willis.
