Daniel Milton Rooney, affectionately known as Dan Rooney, was born on July 20, 1932, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to a family deeply entrenched in the fabric of football. His father, Art Rooney Sr., founded the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1933, laying the foundation for what would become one of the most storied franchises in NFL history.
