George Elmer Pataki, a prominent figure in American politics, was born on June 24, 1945, in Peekskill, New York. Raised in a working-class family, Pataki developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for public service from an early age. After graduating from Peekskill High School, he went on to attend Yale University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in history, followed by a law degree from Columbia Law School. Pataki's political career began in the early 1980s when he served as mayor of his hometown, Peekskill.
