Priscilla Presley biography

Priscilla Presley, born Priscilla Ann Wagner on May 24, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, is an American actress and businesswoman primarily known for her association with the legendary musician Elvis Presley. She entered the public spotlight as Elvis's romantic partner during his rise to fame in the 1960s and later became his wife. Priscilla's early years were marked by a modest upbringing in Brooklyn, New York. Her father, James Wagner, was a United States Navy pilot, and her mother, Anna Lillian Iversen, worked as a homemaker. When Priscilla was only a few years old, her family relocated to Austin, Texas, where she spent much of her childhood.

In 1959, at the age of 14, Priscilla caught the attention of Elvis Presley during his military service in Germany. The two struck up a relationship that continued through Elvis's return to the United States. Priscilla moved to Graceland, Elvis's home in Memphis, Tennessee, after completing her education. Despite their significant age difference, their relationship blossomed, and they eventually married on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada. As Elvis's wife, Priscilla played a crucial role in managing his career and personal affairs. She also became a mother to their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, born in 1968. However, their marriage faced challenges due to Elvis's demanding schedule and his struggles with prescription drug abuse.

Following their divorce in 1973, Priscilla focused on establishing her own identity beyond being Elvis's wife. She pursued acting and appeared in numerous film and television roles, including the successful Naked Gun series. Additionally, she ventured into business, launching ventures in the beauty industry and real estate. Throughout her life, Priscilla Presley has remained closely associated with Elvis's legacy, preserving his memory through her involvement with Graceland and various Elvis-related projects. She has also been involved in philanthropic endeavors and remains an influential figure in popular culture, admired for her grace, resilience, and contributions to the entertainment industry
